SUMMARY:
Senior Bookkeeper (Accountant in manufacturing)

POSITION INFO:

We are looking for a knowledgeable and detail-driven Senior Bookkeeper to take ownership of day-to-day financial processing and support the finance function within a busy manufacturing environment. This role suits someone who is accurate, organised, and confident working with high-volume transactions and complex reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timeous posting
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations (bank, creditors, debtors, inventory, etc.)
• Process invoices, payments, journals, accruals, and prepayments
• Assist with preparation of month-end and year-end financial packs
• Support the Finance Manager with analysis, reporting, and audit requirements
• Monitor financial compliance, internal controls, and data accuracy
• Manage supplier and customer accounts, follow up on queries, and resolve discrepancies
• Ensure correct capturing and alignment of financial data within SYSPRO

Requirements

• BCom Accounting/Finance (preferred) or relevant bookkeeping qualification
• 5–6 years’ experience in a similar senior bookkeeping role
• Manufacturing or engineering industry experience highly advantageous
• Strong proficiency in SYSPRO and advanced Excel skills
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and reconciliations
• High accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work to deadlines
