POSITION INFO:

We are looking for a Senior Civil Design Engineer to join the Mining Infrastructure Department of a top consulting firm's Johannesburg office.

You will be responsible for managing civil design mine infrastructure projects. This includes storm water management infrastructure (dams, canals), bulk earthworks (terraces and platforms), roads, (gravel, mine haul roads, dragline walkways), mine waste disposal facilities, tailings facilities and more.

Responsible for managing the design team, interface with the client, check and approve deliverables, including compiling design reports, project study inputs, bill of quantities, project specifications etc.

Requirements:

BEng. BSc. Eng. Civil Engineering or higher
7 or more years relevant experience
Above average academic results
Good understanding and knowledge of soil mechanics
Experience in the designing of mining related infrastructure
Experience in Civil 3D
Professionally registered with ECSA
