JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a Senior Civil Project Engineer for Cape Town and Port Elizabeth.

This is a permanent position and the appointment will be in terms of the company’s Employment Equity Plan. The salary will be market related and dependent on the applicant’s qualifications and experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Management of professional multi-disciplinary team/s responsible for the planning, design and construction of engineering and building projects from inception to completion.
Management of construction contracts as Contracts Engineer\ Employer’s Agent \ Principal Agent.
Preparation of tender documents.
Preparation of reports (Project Inception, Concept and Viability, Design, tender evaluation, progress, financial, close-out, etc.)
Day-to day contract administration and management of civil engineering and building projects.
Handling of technical queries and resolutions and leading Site and Technical Meetings on site, including the taking of minutes.
Financial control of construction contracts
Communicate frequently with all professionals and clients.
Handling of technical queries and dispute resolutions in conjunction with others.
Assist with project safety and environmental matters during construction.
General office and project related admin.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

At least a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
Registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer or Professional Technologist.
Registration with SACPCMP as a Professional Construction Project Manager will be advantageous.
At least 12 years’ verifiable post graduate experience in the planning, design and construction of civil engineering and building projects from inception to completion. At least three years of this experience should be in Storm-water management.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Office Project.
Basic knowledge and experience with AutoCAD Civil3D,
Experience in the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) software, in particular ACC Docs will be advantageous.
Must be an effective communicator (personal, phone, writing, email; etc.)

Own Vehicle
Valid Driver’s License
