SUMMARY:
Our client within the Engineering Consultancy industry is seeking a Senior Draughtsman to join their team in Empangeni.
POSITION INFO:
Experience and Qualifications:
- Min of 5 to 7 years’ experience
- Experience in commercial building and heavy industrial structures
- Must be computer literate in CAD Software (AutoCAD, Inventor, Solidworks, Advanced Steel)
- 3D CAD modelling experience (AutoCad / Inventor / SolidEdge / ProE / SolidWorks or any other known mainstream CAD package).
- Willing to perform site work, out-of-office.
- Willing to travel for work.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Open communication approach with colleagues.
- Good organizational skills.
- Structured approach to problem solving and structured approach to day-to-day self-management.
- Ability to perform the necessary engineering introspection and willingness to be challenged.
- Showing initiative in challenging and unclear circumstances.
- Professional appearance and conduct.
- Team player and must work well within a project team
- Able to do own drafting work (AutoCad, Inventor, Microstation, Advance steel etc)
- Able to do Reinforcing detailing (Rebarmate, Prokon)
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Create manual drawings according to a design and / or use software packages - Drafting packages (AutoCAD, inventor, solid works, advanced steel)
- Assist the Design Engineer with the generation of drawings.
- Responsible for the approval of the drawings
- Record keeping of drawings electronically
- Registration of all drawing documents
- Ability to perform the necessary engineering introspection and willingness to be challenged.
- Showing initiative in challenging and unclear circumstances.
- Professional appearance and conduct.
- Under supervision of senior engineer, carry out detail designs using various computer software packages
- Liaising with clients and a variety of professionals and form part of a coordination team
- Check drawings prepared by others and sign off.
