SUMMARY:
Our client based in Randburg is seeking a skilled Senior Claims Handler to take ownership of complex commercial and personal lines claims. This role requires a confident professional who can deliver high-quality service, mentor junior staff, and ensure claims are resolved efficiently and accurately.
Salary - R35 000 per month
POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements:
- Immediately available
- Completed RE5 – essential
- FAIS-compliant qualification (e.g., Higher Certificate in Short-Term Insurance) – preferred
- 5+ years' experience in claims handling/administration – Commercial & Personal Lines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven conflict resolution and negotiation abilities
- Strong MS Office skills, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong customer service orientation
? Responsibilities
- Handle the full claims process from registration to finalization for motor and non-motor claims
- Handle complex and high-value claims within mandate and escalate where necessary
- Liaise regularly with brokers, insurers, assessors, and internal stakeholders
- Provide guidance and support to junior claims staff (informal leadership or mentoring)
- Ensure accurate documentation and file maintenance in line with regulatory and compliance requirements
- Maintain a high standard of turnaround time and service delivery
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in claims processing
