POSITION INFO:
Senior Consultant/Valuations Actuary
Rosebank
Actuarial Product Owner for Retail Mass funeral and savings products
Profit, VNB, reserve calculations and updated forecasts for monthly management reporting
Assist with DCS and Prophet modelling
Analysis of Movements
Analyse the drivers of profits and VNB and communicate insights to senior management
Perform embedded value calculations, AoEV, consolidations and sensitivity calculations
Assist with completing FSCA and other statutory reporting requirements (IFRS)
Enable strategy setting for the RM Cluster by assisting with the preparation of annual budgets and other management reporting requirements as required
Ad-hoc investigations to assist RM management with strategic decisions
Communication of results to senior management
Qualifications:
- Actuarial Degree
- Recently qualified or nearly qualified Actuary
Knowledge and Experience:
- Relevant valuations experience is essential
- Proficiency in Excel and Prophet
Personal attributes and Competencies:
- Strong PC skills (especially Excel) are essential
- Proficiency in DCS will be preferred
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Analysis of results from models
- Good technical expertise
- Ability to work well within a team
- Quality and detail orientation and concern for accuracy
