The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Contracts Specialist a 12-month fixed term contract for Pretoria.

 

We require a minimum 8 Yearsâ?? work experience in Supply Chain, Procurement and Contract Management on a management level.

 

Working experience with Mega Project in the Mining and Construction Industry is essential for this role.

 

Purpose of the role:

  • To develop and implement contracting strategies and, commercial value release initiatives
  • To provide commercial leadership and expertise within portfolio and support Manager, Capital Buying with regards to execution of contract management strategy for allocated portfolio
  • To develop and maintain contracting strategies
  • To provide specialist commercial input for contracting across all Business Units
  • To provide a portfolio supervisory role in terms of contract vetting, and people performance management and contract lifecycle management

 

Minimum educational level:                                                      

  • Relevant Degree

 

We require the following work experience:

  • Negotiate procurement savings
  • Compile enquiry documentation as per project
  • Commercial and financial evaluation of tenders
  • Obtain tenders from specific marketplace through solicitation process
  • Facilitate commercial process and ensure adherence to sound ethical principles
  • Mitigate risk in terms of contractual exposure to the Company
  • Agree on supplier negotiation metric and negotiate with successful supplier in finalising contract terms and conditions
  • Responsible for contractually committing the Company
  • Report on portfolio contract performance in line with agreed targets
  • Liaise with strategic sourcing teams on relevant commodity initiatives
  • Establish, manage and maintain all portfolio contracts
  • Manage supplier/vendor performance
  • Manage the drafting of the commercial agreement and finalise sign-off of commercial agreement with suppliers
  • Vetting and quality control of portfolio contracts
  • Portfolio planning and resource allocation
  • SCM balanced scorecard compliance

 

Skills and Experience:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and support implementation of process and system enhancements to continuously improve commercial management process
  • Study / research best practice processes and benchmark the Company processes at regular intervals
  • Provide guidance to customers to ensure adherence to all policies, procedures, standards and guidelines
  • Ensure supplier stakeholders comply with relevant regulatory requirements
  • Identify, manage and mitigate risk associated with Supply Chain Management (SCM) capital buying initiatives
  • Integrate Group Capital Buying guidelines and procedures with those of the Companyâ??s SCM blueprint Contract Portfolio Management
  • Contract lifecycle management for entire portfolio
  • Ensure that the consultation, design, administration, facilitation and coordination of the tendering process completed correctly
  • Contribute to overall value release target
  • Stakeholder engagement and dispute resolution
  • Customer, Stakeholder and Client Relationship Management
  • Maintain database of supplier information and ensure that integrity and quality of data are relevant and of required standard
