iOCO is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Data Engineer to lead the development and enhancement of a modern, cloud-based Data Warehouse. This strategic initiative will enable data-driven decision-making, automation, and self-service analytics across the organisation.
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in consolidating financial systems and operational data into a centralised repository, ensuring high data quality, and driving the broader data strategy.
What you'll do:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines and data models.
- Lead the migration of data infrastructure to a cloud-based environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data architecture with business needs.
- Implement data quality frameworks and metadata management.
- Support automation of reporting and analytics processes.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data professionals.
Your expertise:
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and modern ETL tools.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS; Fabric experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, data governance, and metadata management.
Skills:
- Experience in the public sector or with financial systems.
- Familiarity with data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Knowledge of data security and compliance standards.
