Senior Data Engineer

SUMMARY:
Recruiting for a Senior Data Engineer. A lead role responsible for the effective, high-quality delivery of analysis, design, development, and ongoing maintenance of large-scale products and services across data engineering, data warehousing, MSSQL, SSAS, SSRS and reporting, Power BI and Business Intelligence, ETL processes, Azure-based data processing, and relevant non-SQL data environments.

POSITION INFO:
This role operates in alignment with the requirements of our Telematics, fleet management, and reporting focus areas and functions as a technical leadership position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and delivery of scalable data engineering solutions across the organisation.
• Drive hands-on development while providing technical guidance to Data Engineering teams.
• Deliver data platforms and pipelines on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.
• Ensure best-practice development, testing, and optimisation of SQL, ETL, reporting, and data products.
• Maintain and enhance data systems, supporting modernisation and new technologies.
• Collaborate with architects, managers, and cross-functional teams on technical design and implementation.
• Share knowledge and mentor junior engineers.

• Completed BEng or BSc or related Degree
• Minimum 4+ years' work experience with data engineering, data product delivery, working with large volume data, technical leadership roles
• Tech Experience:
  • SQL: MSSQL (required). Oracle, MySQL, or other SQL platforms (optional)
  • Data Warehousing: SSAS (required). Other platforms optional
  • Data Engineering & Programming: Python and DAX (required). Java and Scala (optional)
  • Reporting & BI: SSRS and Power BI (required). Other tools optional
  • Big Data / Spark: PySpark (required). Synapse or other frameworks optional
  • GIS: Any GIS processing environment (MSSQL, Esri, etc.) – negotiable
  • Operating Systems: Microsoft Server OS (advanced). Linux (terminal experience required)
