Senior Data Scientist (Remote)

SUMMARY:
A cutting edge fintech company is in search for a dynamic Senior Data Scientist to join their team. To stand out in this role, you must be adept at using large data sets to find the right opportunities for product optimization and using models to test the efficiency of various courses of action.

POSITION INFO:

In this role you will provide support to the product, sales, leadership, and marketing teams with insights accumulated from analyzing the company’s data

You will liaise with stakeholders to identify prospects for leveraging company data to drive business solutions

You will be responsible for mining and analyzing company data for product and process optimization

Skills & Experience:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in manipulating data sets and building statistical models

Familiarity with coding languages such as C, C++, Java, and JavaScript

Experience in the following:

Statistical and data mining techniques: GLM/Regression, Random Forest, Boosting, Trees, text mining, social network analysis, etc.

Querying databases and using statistical computer languages: R, Python, SLQ, etc.

Using web services: Redshift, S3, Spark, DigitalOcean, etc.

Creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, etc.

Analyzing data from 3rd party providers: Google Analytics, Site Catalyst, Coremetrics, Adwords, Crimson Hexagon, Facebook Insights, etc.

Distributed data/computing tools: Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Gurobi, MySQL, etc.

Visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders using: Periscope, Business Objects, D3, ggplot, etc.

Qualification:

Master’s or PHD in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or another quantitative field (Required)
