JOB SUMMARY:
One of South Africa's Banking Giants is looking for a Senior Database Administrator to deliver, maintain and support the high performing database management systems that meets the company’s vision, objectives, and quality.

Qualifications:
Min:

Grade 12
Microsoft Database Certification (MCDBA and/or MCTS (SQL Administration))

Ideal:

A relevant 3-year degree / diploma in IT
Multiple qualifications in various infrastructure disciplines (Networking, Operating Systems, Virtualization, etc.)

Job Knowledge:

Detailed knowledge of:

SQL Server design and administration
SQL Server management systems performance and capacity analysis
SQL Server Internals
T-SQL Programming and optimization

A sound understanding of:

IT systems development processes (SDLC lifecycle)
Business continuity planning
IT Operations
SQL Server Internals and\or MySQL Server Internals

Ideal:
A sound understanding of:

Cloud platforms for AWS/Azure
SD-WAN
Databases other than MS SQL
Application Delivery Controllers
Automation, scripting (Terraform, Ansible)
Monitoring tools
Capacity Planning
BCP Concepts
NAC
Containers
Data warehousing
Big data
Cloud platforms
