MAIN PURPOSE:
To supervise the engineering draughting team. To ensure models and drawings are produced on time and to the correct standard. To control the quality of the models, drawings and other documentation produced by the draughtspersons.
EDUCATION SKILLS REQUIREMENT:
- Post-secondary school training in Drafting and/or 20 years draughting experience in a 3D CAD environment. Non-negotiable
COMPUTER LITERACY:
- Proficient level computer skills including Ms Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
- CAD system experience essential, Creo / Windchill.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREA / JOB DUTIES:
- Schedule the draughting personnel to perform the tasks required by the department.
- To introduce and manage processes in the draughting team to continually improve their productivity and performance.
- To supervise the production models, drawings and other documentation.
- Liaise with production to ensure the most economical methods of manufacture are built into the product. and to ensure the correct version of drawings are available for production.
- To verify the standard and quality produced by each draughtsperson.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Responsible for the productivity of the draughting team.
- Responsible for the quality of models and drawings produced by the draughting team.
- Responsible for making recommendation to improve the draughting team performance.
REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 20 years of drafting experience in a similar environment.
- Skills in drafting and mechanical drawing, high level of knowledge in drafting and modeling standards.
- CAD system experience, preferably Creo / Windchill.

- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
