SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior E,C&I Engineer to lead the design and implementation of electrical, control, and instrumentation systems across a range of mineral processing and industrial projects.
POSITION INFO:
You will play a key role in project delivery — from conceptual design through detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning — ensuring technical excellence, cost efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate E,C&I design, documentation, and integration for new and existing plant projects.
- Develop and review technical specifications, single-line diagrams, P&IDs, and control system architecture.
- Oversee instrumentation selection, PLC/DCS programming, and control philosophy development.
- Manage electrical load studies, cable sizing, earthing, and protection coordination.
- Supervise drafting teams and interface with mechanical, process, and civil disciplines.
- Conduct site inspections, FATs/SATs, and provide commissioning support.
- Ensure that designs meet regulatory, safety, and environmental standards.
- Mentor and support Junior Engineers and Designers.
- Liaise with clients, vendors, and contractors to ensure successful project outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience:- Bachelor’s Degree (BEng/BSc) in Electrical, Control, or Instrumentation Engineering (or equivalent).
- 8+ years’ experience in E,C&I design and project execution within mining, mineral processing, oil & gas, or heavy industry.
- Proven experience with PLC/DCS systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, and ABB).
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation, automation, and process control systems.
- Familiarity with relevant standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, AS/NZS, and SANS).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, EPLAN, ETAP, or similar design software.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
- Willingness to travel to site and support field execution when required.
