SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior ECI Engineer to lead the design and implementation of electrical, control, and instrumentation systems across a range of mineral processing and industrial projects.

We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior ECI Engineer to lead the design and implementation of electrical, control, and instrumentation systems across a range of mineral processing and industrial projects.
You will play a key role in project delivery — from conceptual design through detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning — ensuring technical excellence, cost efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate ECI design, documentation, and integration for new and existing plant projects.
• Develop and review technical specifications, single-line diagrams, P&IDs, and control system architectures.
• Oversee instrumentation selection, PLC/DCS programming, and control philosophy development.
• Manage electrical load studies, cable sizing, earthing, and protection coordination.
• Supervise drafting teams and interface with mechanical, process, and civil disciplines.
• Conduct site inspections, FATs/SATs, and provide commissioning support.
• Ensure designs meet regulatory, safety, and environmental standards.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and designers.
• Liaise with clients, vendors, and contractors to ensure successful project outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree (BEng/BSc) in Electrical, Control, or Instrumentation Engineering (or equivalent).
• 8+ years’ experience in ECI design and project execution within mining, mineral processing, oil & gas, or heavy industry.
• Proven experience with PLC/DCS systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, ABB).
• Strong knowledge of instrumentation, automation, and process control systems.
• Familiarity with relevant standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, AS/NZS, SANS).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, EPLAN, ETAP, or similar design software.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
• Willingness to travel to site and support field execution when required.
