Senior Electrical Engineer (Mining Projects – ECSA Registered) – Gauteng

SUMMARY:
Lead miscellaneous, small and large projects in the Electrical Engineering function and/or support the Principal Engineer/Lead Engineer in managing Electrical Engineering on projects. 
The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for the control and monitoring the progress and quality of assigned tasks within the Electrical Engineering discipline of the project, including the supervision of Engineers and Junior Engineers
To carry out all electrical engineering and design work in accordance with agreed codes and practices that meets all requirements of the contract.  Also, to ensure all work is carried out within agreed schedules, budgets and procedures as per the company Engineering Directive.
To conduct engineering and design work independently and in accordance with the engineering and project governance set out in the Technical Stewardship Standard.

POSITION INFO:
BSc, BEng or BTech from a recognised institute.
Registered as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist with ECSA.
Minimum 8 years (BSc/BEng/BEng Tech/BTech) or 6 years (MSc) of post qualification experience.
Experience in Mining, Minerals and Chemicals, Hydrocarbons, Power and Public Infrastructure industries essential, across operations, design and project execution roles.
Must be will and able to do International travelling.

Executing electrical engineering and design duties for electrical equipment as required by the project
Utilise approved software and other analysis tools (like validated spreadsheets) for the design of electrical equipment.
Undertake electrical engineering and design activities required by the project, which could include system and/or equipment calculations, electrical datasheets, engineering requisitions, electrical equipment lists, technical bid evaluations, electrical design criteria, input into the Basis of Design document, SEAL plan input, relevant design drawings and other electrical engineering related deliverables.
Liaising with other discipline engineers on technical issues and engineering matters, including the provision of discipline specific advice on issues not covered by design guides.
