Senior Electrical Foreman S & S (Infrastructure)

Qualifications Formal qualifications:
- Grade 12 certificate or relevant national NQF level qualification.
- Trade Certificate: Electrical or Mechanical
- Code B Driver’s License
- A supervisory qualification would be advantageous
Experience Required: Additional requirements:
- 3+ Years continuous experience as an Artisan in a Shafts & Surface Infrastructure system. With relative maintenance experience in maintaining Koepe Winders, BAC and Main Ventilation Fans.
- Minimum of 3 years previous experience in maintenance and installation supervision of Shafts & Surface Infrastructure.
- Experience with Siemens simo code, PLCs, electrical switch gear
- Must have MQA – MV Switching Certificate
- Must be informed concerning PLC and SCADA systems in particular Siemens PLC’s and WinCC SCADA systems.
- With relative maintenance experience in maintaining Koepe Winders, BAC and Main Ventilation Fans.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Budgeting and cost control
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Proficiency in SAP will be advantageous
- Medical Certificate of Fitness to work underground

Your responsibilities will include but not limited:

• Contribute to a culture of zero harm by adhering to all requirements as laid down by legislation and health, safety, environmental and security policies and procedures, and by the application of specific instructions to own work area and task completion.
• To perform technical C&I related engineering activities in the operation/ project/ division, providing an integrated and effective engineering service ensuring the achievement of departmental objectives and provision of technical guidance to other departments.
• Provides input to and updates the overall engineering plan for maintenance and repair of electrical infrastructure, equipment and machinery to support the operations.
• Planning of activities in accordance with production schedules and allocation of resources as required.
• Effective communication to relevant stakeholder to minimize production delays.
• Investigate, diagnose and perform trade related maintenance and repair of electrical infrastructure, equipment and machinery according to the maintenance requirements.
• Attend to defects raised on pre-start reports, breakdown sheets and over-inspection reports
• Perform inspections in accordance with the Mine Health & Safety Act regulations, manufacturing and company standards to report all defects and breakdowns on equipment and machinery to the Line Manager
• Perform electrical infrastructure and equipment over-inspection on work done by artisans and operators
• Provide relevant feedback to the Supervisor and co-workers regarding electrical infrastructure and equipment performance and conditions.
• Carry out scheduled and non-scheduled electrical infrastructure and equipment repairs and installation.
• Discuss work backlog and future work requirements with Line Manager
• Identify spares requirements and order accordingly
• Analyse and interpret maintenance related data and initiate required improvements.
• Ensure compliance to the business’ engineering planning standards, guidelines, specifications and best practices.
• Co-ordinate electrical infrastructure and equipment installations and maintenance with internal and external clients and service providers to ensure the timeous allocation of resources and that due process is followed and required measures are taken to ensure execution takes place according to plan.
• Manage and control the allocation of funds to ensure adherence to budgetary limits.
• Coaching, training and development of subordinates.
