JOB SUMMARY:
An exciting opportunity to be a part of the firmware development team in charge of enhancing and developing the electronic systems specifically software and firmware for a System-on Chip FPGA. Ideal for someone with a strong electronic background with a keen interest in aerospace.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Design, test and integrate electro-optical electronic systems and digital systems within aerospace.

Design, implement test

VHDL firmware modules

C software modules

Development of electro-optical and digital systems

Assist in product testing campaigns

Skills & Experience:

Minimum 8+ years developing digital electronics, including embedded firmware.

Strong experience in high-speed FPGA firmware design using VHDL.

Experience in writing C code in an embedded environment.

Understanding of high-speed and high-reliability design practices.

Experience in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Advantageous:

Experience with Microsemi FPGAs

Experience with Python (or similar scripting languages)

Experience in standard coding compliance, including revision control

Experience in the high-tech, military or aerospace sectors

Experience in environmental testing and acceptance testing to high-quality standards

Experience in CCD and CMOS electro-optical design

Experience in multi-layer PCB design

Understanding radiation effects on electronics

Experience in Siemens Teamcenter

Qualification:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering.

Master’s Degree in Electronic Engineering.

Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
