Senior Electronics Technician (Western Cape)

SUMMARY:
Client based in the Western Cape - Somerset West Area is looking for Senior Electronics Technician

POSITION INFO:

Only candidates with the following criteria will be considered:

Purpose: Maintenance, repair and design of more than 400 high stability, high power, computer controlled power supplies for the particle accelerators

Minimum requirements:

• BTech / Advanced Diploma in Electronics
• 5 Years’ Experience in Heavy and Light Current Electronics

Skills & attributes:

• Skills in soldering.
• Electronic module testing and repair.
• Sound knowledge of analog and digital electronics
• Sound knowledge of high power electronics
• Dealing with electronic components and suppliers.
• PLC Programming
• GUI Design
• Control system and instrumentation designs
• Administration skills regarding stores management
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Analytical thinking skills
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Excellent problem solving abilities
• Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision

Duties will include but are not limited to:

• First line maintenance of over 400 power supplies
• Breakdown repairs of power supplies
• Fault finding and fixing of interface/control electronics
• Specification, design, procurement, testing and implementation of new power supplies.
• Replacement of legacy power supplies
• Standby duties and overtime
