SUMMARY:
Client based in the Western Cape - Somerset West Area is looking for Senior Electronics Technician

POSITION INFO:

Only candidates with the following criteria will be considered:

Purpose: Maintenance, repair and design of more than 400 high stability, high power, computer controlled power supplies for the particle accelerators

Minimum requirements:

BTech / Advanced Diploma in Electronics
5 Years’ Experience in Heavy and Light Current Electronics

Skills & attributes:

Skills in soldering.
Electronic module testing and repair.
Sound knowledge of analog and digital electronics
Sound knowledge of high power electronics
Dealing with electronic components and suppliers.
PLC Programming
GUI Design
Control system and instrumentation designs
Administration skills regarding stores management
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Analytical thinking skills
Strong mechanical aptitude
Excellent problem solving abilities
Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision

Duties will include but are not limited to:

First line maintenance of over 400 power supplies
Breakdown repairs of power supplies
Fault finding and fixing of interface/control electronics
Specification, design, procurement, testing and implementation of new power supplies.
Replacement of legacy power supplies
Standby duties and overtime
