Purpose of the role:

 

To establish and manage a world-class, integrated Facility. This role is accountable for creating and maintaining a welcoming, comfortable and well-organized living and working environment that will enable employee well-being and productivity. The incumbent manages contractors, suppliers, superintendents and officers and the scope of this role spans the built environment, hospitality, personnel, budgeting, SHEQ, technology, and business operations.

 

 

Education and Requirements :

  • Degree in Facilities management, business management or related
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Budgeting, finance and business
  • Project planning and management
  • Operations and Maintenance
  • Facilities Management software
  • Global SHEQ standards

 

Key Responsibilties

 

Design, establish and embed effective and efficient integrated Facilities Management structures, policies, plans and governance structures

    • Develop an integrated Facilities plan and present to EXCO for approval

 

Oversee space planning and the availability, upkeep and management of the physical facilities 

    • Forecast and plan for upcoming needs to ensure adequate, on-time availability of accommodation and supporting infrastructure

 

Manage and oversee Contractors and service providers

    • Participate in the selection, appointment and contracting of service providers

 

Drive effective problem solving and continuous improvement

    • Identify and manage problems and operational risks 

 

Drive relationships with stakeholders to enable optimisation of the business value chain

    • Establish and maintain relationships across functional areas to enable collaboration and knowledge sharing across the business.

Manage a division that builds people, values difference and creates an inclusive work environment.

  • Embed people-focused management strategies and implement policies that maximise employee potential

Forecast, secure and manage the budget as per Delegation of Authority Matrix

  • Collaborate cross-departmentally to source and secure relevant business information / data (e.g., labour plan, churn rate) that will feed into accurate forecasting

 

Drive transformation in terms of people, automation/ digitisation and sustainability and provide timely and robust change management to underpin initiatives

  • Develop and implement a divisional transformation plan in line with the departmental and organisational strategy.

Embed and drive a work ethos that is committed to safeguarding employee safety, health and wellbeing 

  • Implement the HSEQ plan for the Business area and take remedial actions where necessary to ensure achievement of a Zero Harm culture

Establish reporting best practice for area of responsibility 

  • Determine requirements; design and develop reports and dashboards

 

  • Deploy an integrated risk management, governance and compliance framework throughout area of responsibility
  • Drive adherence to statutory standards, policies and procedures within the business unit to ensure compliance at all times and take remedial action where necessary
