Senior Finance Manager

Our client is looking for a Senior Finance Manager to join their team of Accountants and CA’s who provide financial and business solutions to individuals, start-ups, and SMEs in South Africa, the UAE, and the United Kingdom.

This person should be a strong manager, organized, able to effectively multitask, manage deadlines and communicate well with the team and clients.

Responsibilities and Duties include (but are not limited to):

1. Review the work of and manage a team of Accountants in delivering the following to cross multiple clients:

• Monthly management accounts.
• Annual financial statements for submission to companies’ house (UK clients) or SARS (SA clients).
• Payroll function for SA and UK clients.
• VAT and income tax reconciliations to SARS (SA clients) and HMRC (UK clients).
• Individual tax returns for SA clients and UK clients.

2. Manage the output and workflow of the team in performing the tasks outlined above.
3. Train the team and new team members in performing the tasks outlined above.
4. Ability to analyze and interrogate client information and provide advice based on the accounts.
5. Meetings / Zoom calls with clients providing accounting advice and analysis of their accounts.
6. Development of cash flow forecasts and budgets and variance analysis.
7. Research and implementation of new accounting standards or changes in compliance requirements.
8. Research and implementation of new software tools as applicable to the client.
9. Onboarding and setting up the process flow for new clients, as well as performing a detailed review on opening balances and advising on corrections.
10. Ensure the team meet deadlines throughout the year.
11. Advise both the clients and team on process improvements and implementation of more efficient systems.
12. Communication with and management of the relationship with clients.
13. Must be a keen learner who is able to work independently, and problem solve without significant hand holding required.

Candidate Requirements (Skills and Experience):

• CA (SA) with minimum 3 years post articles experience at an accounting firm or in a Finance Manager role.
• CIMA / Bachelor of Commerce Honours / ACCA / AGA (SA) with minimum 5 years of experience at an accounting firm or in a Finance Manager role.
• Experience in reviewing work of others.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience with one of the major accounting software’s (our client is using Xero but proficiency in any accounting software will assist in the role).
• Experience with Draftworx or Caseware (preferred but not required).
• Experience with UK companies or property industry clients (preferred but not required).

Area: Rondebosch, Cape Town area.

Salary between R55 000 – R70 000 per month (depending on experience).

Starting date: As soon as possible.
