Senior Financial Accountant

POSITION INFO:

As the Senior Accountant, your duties could include the following:
Oversee the integrity of the general ledger, ensuring a seamless and accurate flow of financial data into the accounting system
Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions and loan accounts, keeping balances transparent and up to date
Prepare and critically review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, aligning with internal policies and deadlines
Process both routine and complex journal entries, while delivering clear and timely general ledger reports to management and stakeholders
Drive compliance and efficiency by implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving financial control processes
Monitor and report on exceptions in Creditors, Debtors, and Bank Reconciliations, ensuring early detection and resolution of variances
Collaborate across the finance team on ad-hoc analyses, system improvements, and strategic initiatives
Provide hands-on support in the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and audit requirements
Monitor and analyse age analysis reports in line with the credit policy, highlighting and reporting any deviations on a weekly basis
Design, implement, and maintain reporting frameworks for weekly and monthly debtors and risk reporting
Oversee the credit insurance process while driving continuous improvements in debtor risk management
Support the review and monitoring of the pooling process and grower payment calculations, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Maintain robust controls and procedures to guarantee precise season-end reconciliations
Oversee and manage the seasonal audit and review process from preparation through to completion

Skills & Experience:
3-5 years of commercial experience
Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles
Financial Reporting skills

Qualification:
Relevant degree in Accounting or Finance
