Senior Financial Accountant

SUMMARY:
I am calling CA(SA)’s from the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town; an exciting opportunity exists for an energetic and highly motivated finance professional to join as a Senior Financial Accountant, reporting to the Finance Manager.

POSITION INFO:

The role is responsible for producing accurate, valid, and complete financial reporting for operating entities, including preparing and submitting statutory and tax obligations across multiple geographies.You will collaborate internally with the accounts, payroll, and other non-finance functions to enhance the value Finance contributes to the organisation, and externally with consultants, auditors, and tax authorities.

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and review bank reconciliations prepared by bookkeepers
Ensure that all transactions processed in the general ledger for entities/financial statement line items under remit are valid, accurate, and complete
Ensure timely preparation of month-end financial packs, including balance sheet reconciliations, for Finance Manager review
Prepare accurate journals and monthly reconciliations with third-party partners
Assist with preparation of tax submissions and compliance across relevant entities
Support year-end audits, including drafting statutory financial statements
Prepare statutory and regulatory returns
Participate in finance improvement projects such as system implementations, process efficiencies, market expansion, and business maturity workstreams
Work with internal departments to resolve commercial and operational issues

Job Experience and Skills Required:
CA (SA) qualification (essential)
Minimum 0–2 years post-qualification experience in financial services (desirable)
Exposure to multinational group structures, preferably across Africa and/or the UK (advantageous)
ERP finance systems experience (Netsuite or similar preferred)
Experience preparing VAT and corporate tax returns (advantageous)
Experience in financial services or regulated industries (preferred)
Experience in high-growth or fast-paced organisations (advantageous)
Advanced time management and organisational skills (essential)
Advanced MS Office proficiency (essential)
