Senior Financial Accountant

My client within the property space is looking for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to play a key role in financial reporting, utilities management, and project implementation within a dynamic and evolving business environment. Duties:

• Financial Reporting & Analysis:
  • Prepare and review monthly financial reports, management packs, and commentary on key performance areas, such as cost of sales, deferred revenue, and utilities.
  • Support the continuous improvement of financial processes and implementation of new systems and tools.
  • Provide variance analysis and actionable insights to management.
• Systems & Process Management:
  • Serve as a key user or second-in-command for financial reporting systems.
  • Assist with resolving system queries and supporting the reporting manager in system enhancements.
• Utilities & Cost Control:
  • Oversee utilities accounting and ensure accurate billing, reporting, and reconciliations.
  • Monitor metering data, review cost allocations, and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Prepare and review relevant journal entries, reports, and working papers.
• Budgeting, Forecasting & Treasury:
  • Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and related reporting for assigned areas.
  • Oversee treasury operations, including bank account administration, payment authorizations, and relationships with financial institutions.
  • Support cash flow and liquidity planning.
• Audit & Compliance:
  • Assist with year-end audits and ensure compliance with statutory and internal reporting standards.
• Insurance & Risk:
  • Liaise with insurance brokers, manage claims, and maintain asset schedules.
  • Support business risk management and ESG-related reporting where applicable.
• Project Management:
  • Coordinate ad hoc and non-construction projects, ensuring the effective planning, rollout, and implementation of new business processes or systems.
  • Provide support to senior management on key initiatives.
