SUMMARY:
Senior Financial Accountant | Centurion

My client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Financial Accountant to take ownership of a consolidated finance function, combining financial accounting, reporting, and project finance responsibilities.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements:

BCom Accounting / Finance or equivalent (NQF Level 7)
CA(SA) / SAIPA / CIMA or equivalent (advantageous)
Minimum 10+ years’ experience in senior finance roles
Strong experience in project / contract accounting
Solid knowledge of IFRS and South African tax legislation
Experience in management accounts, reporting, and forecasting
Advanced Excel and ERP systems (SAP / Sage / Pastel, etc.)

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the full financial accounting function, including general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end processes
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS
Manage and maintain the integrity of financial records and reporting
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
Prepare management accounts and deliver detailed variance analysis and reporting
Manage financial oversight of multiple projects or contracts simultaneously
Develop, monitor, and track project budgets, forecasts, and cost performance
Analyse project variances and provide insights on financial performance
Support project billing, invoicing, and revenue recognition processes
Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial planning inputs
Coordinate and manage internal and external audit processes
Ensure compliance with SARS requirements including VAT, PAYE, and income tax
Maintain and strengthen internal controls and financial governance processes
Engage with auditors, stakeholders, and management on financial matters
Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making
Support and guide operational teams on financial processes and cost management
Drive improvements in financial systems, reporting, and processes
