Directly overseeing two Bookkeepers, you will hold total operational accountability for general ledger integrity, complex balance sheet governance, and the compilation of monthly executive management packs. Key Responsibilities: General Ledger Stewardship: Command the operational management of the General Ledger (GL), verifying the absolute structural integrity and accuracy of all corporate transactional entries. Balance Sheet Governance & Reconciliations: Perform, review, and evaluate complex balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring timeous clearing of legacy accounts and adjustments. Management Accounts & Executive Summaries: Compile accurate monthly management accounts, operational variance summaries, and executive financial packs to guide leadership decisions. Team Supervision & Development: Directly manage, mentor, and review the day-to-day outputs of two internal Bookkeepers, driving team productivity and operational excellence. Period-End Closures & Audit Governance: Assist senior leadership with month-end and annual year-end close frameworks, enforcing strict internal controls and financial compliance standards. Ad-Hoc Projects & Systems Optimization: Utilize corporate ERP software to analyze underlying financial trends, supporting special business initiatives and digital process improvements. Job Experience and Skills Required: Formal Education: A completed BCom Degree in Accounting is a strict prerequisite. Experience Track: A minimum of 5 years of solid, reference-backed experience operating in a full-function financial accounting capacity. Systems Mastery: Strong operational command of corporate accounting systems and ERP frameworks (hands-on SAP system experience will be highly advantageous). Technical Value-Add: Advanced operational capability in Microsoft Excel; practical prior exposure handling Foreign Exchange (Forex) transactions and multi-currency ledgers is advantageous.
