Senior Financial Controller CA(SA)

SUMMARY:
A well-known International Manufacturing company requires the above to be responsible for overall accounting activities for the South African and African regions.

A well-known International Manufacturing company requires the above to be responsible for overall accounting activities for the South Afican and African region.  

Minimum requirements for the role:

•  The candidate must have a Tertiary Qual in Finance and must be CA(SA). Will not consider CIMA.
• Candidate must be a South African Citizen.
• Previous experience having worked as A Financial Controller or Senior related role working within the Manufacturing industries is essential.
• The successful candidate must be strong technically with Management experience being a strong Leader who has managed a team of people.
• Previous IFRS knowledge is essential.
• Previous experience having worked for a listed multinational company is essential. 
• Previous experience having worked on an ERP system is essential, ideally SAP etc. 
• Previous experience / exposure to US GAAP is pref.
• The successful candidate must be very strong computer literate with advanced experience on Excel being able to analyse their data quickly.
• Previous experience having worked with stock is essential. 

 The successful candidate will be responsible for:

•  eading the Accounting team in South Africa, as well as providing support and guidance to Managers and the extended team.
• Identifying and driving process improvement initiatives within the Finance organization.
• Ensuring the overall control environment in the region is designed and operating effectively.
• Ensuring adequate audit preparation and timeous responses.
• Identifying opportunities for improved productivity and efficiency, as well as reducing costs of the accounting operations. 
• Closely coordinating with the Global Business Services team, as well as with the regional business finance and operations/business organization.
• Leading month-end closing for Africa.
• Coordinating with FP&A and the Operations Team where analysis is required to prepare journal entries and review the financials before completing the month-end close process.
• Ensuring appropriate reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts. 
• Producing financial packs, reviewing and analysing variances. 

Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
