Senior Foreman | Fabrication and Maintenance

SUMMARY:
My client, a leading trackless mining equipment manufacturer is looking to employ a Senior Foreman with experience in Fabrication, Machines, Drifters, Axle shop and Maintenance at their offices in Krugersdorp.

POSITION INFO:
Scope:

The senior foreman supervises the daily operations and workflow of the production environment and overseas section foreman assigned to his area, he is also responsible for facilities maintenance.

Education and experience:

• 5 years experience a an industrial manufacturing/engineering environment.
• Mechanical/Electrical or Industrial Engineering degree.
• Sound MS Office and Syspro skills
• Champion operational excellence in manufacturing

Responsibilities:

• Conduct time, motion & method study activities to improve efficiencies.
• Introduce process mapping to identify strong and week practices within the manufacturing environment
• Conduct study of operator ergonomics (reduce environmental noise, improve airflow and lighting within the plant.
• Review and improve production plant layout & flow of material.
• Setup the manufacturing plant in line with ILO (International  Labour Organisation) standards.
• Conduct review of the plant work standards with the view to improving this standard annually.
• Review forecast, headcount vs work standard and set the plant.
• Review energy usage, with the view to reduce the carbon footprint.
