SUMMARY:
Our client, based in Chamdor (Krugersdorp) is seeking a Senior Foreman with 5 years' experience in the manufacturing environment. The Senior Foreman supervises the daily operations and workflow of a production environment in the manufacturing industry as well as facility maintenance.

Main Purpose:
The Senior Foreman supervises the daily operations and workflow of a production environment in the manufacturing industry as well as facility maintenance.

Qualifications:

• Mechanical / Electrical Engineering Degree
• 5 years’ experience in Manufacturing environment

• Supervise daily duties to ensure safety, quality, and productivity.
• Oversee aspects of quality assurance and equipment maintenance and or repairs.
• Producing the planned quantity of quality products and services at the correct time and cost.
• Control production workflow.
• Ensuring occupational health and safety of production team.
• Managing subordinates in the factory to ensure recovery targets are met.
• Coaching subordinates in the factory hands on.
• Ensure employees are trained, engaged, and managed effectively through performance, talent and skills development processes which will help maintain efficiency and productivity.
• Work closely with Production Manager and other supervisors to establish working schedules for their assigned departments.
• Ensure adherence of subordinates to company policies.
• Maintaining records of departmental staff attendance.
• Monitor usage of utilities to ensure efficiency of operations.
• Identify training needs.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities and liaise with engineering for implementation
• Implementing process improvements.
• Setting standards for achieving efficiencies in machine building processes by conducting time studies.
• Ensure steady flow of production activities, produce the right product, in the right quality, quantity and at the right time.
• Ensure optimal resource utilization.
• Initiate, recommend, investigate, trouble-shoot and provide solutions and actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to the products, process, and quality system.
• Lead a team of technicians and operators to meet production yield and target.
• Raise non-conformance reports for products and processes and follow them up to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Work with the quality department to ensure first pass yield is achieved and failures are reduced.
• Attending production meetings.
• Identify significant environmental impacts of plant operations and to establish goals and targets around significant environmental impacts.
