Our client based in Ugie, is currently looking for a Senior Forester to join their progressive team.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• National Diploma or Degree in Forestry.
• Post Graduate studies will be to your advantage.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Minimum 5-10 years’ relevant experience.
• Proficient in Microforest and Microsoft.
• Be familiar with Risk / Safety / FSC requirements for both Silviculture and Harvesting.
• Strong skills and experience in OHS Act requirements for Silviculture.

KEY RESULT AREAS:

• Plan the re-establishment program (planting), place the plant order with nurseries, and execute, to achieve temporary unplanted targets within budget constraints.
• Ensure maximum stocking within Silviculture standards to achieve.
• Inspect operation regularly to identify risks and ensure timeous action (blanking, pest control management).
• Plan and conduct regular field inspections to ensure that crop, through the timing operations (weed control, pest, and disease management), achieve maximum yields within cost constraints.
• Develop tactical plan and ensure that the Annual Plan of Operations for both commercial and open area comply with standard and service level agreements.
• Maintain and protect plantation assets.
• Adhere to all environmental and conservation legislation.
• Adhere to all company policies and standards.
• Being able to determine and monitor production standards by using site variables.
• Liaise function (traditional community relations).
• Personal development management.
• Fire protection and control.
• Budget and APO control.
• Administration.
