SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mobile Developer to join a dynamic Information Technology team responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting high-quality cross-platform mobile applications.
This role offers the opportunity to provide technical leadership, influence mobile architecture and development standards, and contribute to the delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performing mobile solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with technical experts, business stakeholders, and development teams to deliver exceptional mobile experiences across Android and iOS platforms.
POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Mobile Development & Maintenance Develop and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using modern mobile development frameworks and technologies. Translate UI\/UX designs and wireframes into responsive, user-friendly mobile applications. Integrate mobile applications with APIs, backend services, databases, and third-party platforms. Conduct code reviews and enforce development standards and best practices. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues and performance bottlenecks. Technical Architecture & Standards Design scalable, maintainable, and secure mobile application architectures. Produce and maintain technical documentation, solution designs, and architecture diagrams. Guide decisions around application structure, state management, offline functionality, modularity, performance, and scalability. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and proactively manage technical debt. Establish and promote mobile development standards and best practices. Performance & Security Monitor and optimise application performance, responsiveness, and stability. Implement secure coding practices, including authentication, authorisation, data encryption, and secure storage. Investigate and resolve application crashes, defects, and reliability issues using monitoring and analytics tools. Release & Deployment Management Own the end-to-end release process for Android and iOS applications. Manage application versioning, build configurations, and deployment environments. Ensure consistent release and deployment practices across mobile platforms. Leadership & Collaboration Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to developers. Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, and third-party service providers. Contribute to software development lifecycle activities, including design, testing, deployment, support, and continuous improvement. Minimum Requirements Qualifications Diploma in Software Development or a related field. Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline will be advantageous. Experience Minimum 6 years' software development experience . Proven experience mentoring and guiding developers. Strong hands-on experience with: React Native TypeScript Modern React Android and iOS development Mobile testing tools (TestFlight, emulators, etc.) Redux or other state management frameworks Expo Application Services (EAS) C# \/ .NET REST APIs Microservices architecture Git version control Agile\/Scrum methodologies Message brokers such as RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, AWS EventBridge, or similar Cloud platforms (Azure experience advantageous) Third-party system integrations Debugging and performance optimisation in production environments Advantageous Experience Azure DevOps CI\/CD pipelines and deployment automation Azure Durable Functions MSSQL and Cosmos DB Non-relational database technologies Experience working with international teams across multiple time zones Experience within finance, insurance, claims, or invoicing environments Skills & Competencies Strong understanding of: Mobile application architecture Android & iOS development principles Database design and data modelling System engineering and software design Cloud engineering practices Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
