Senior Geologist

SUMMARY:
Our client in the mining industry, has an opportunity available for an Senior Geologist to be based in the Burgersfort, Limpopo area.

POSITION INFO:

Requirements:

• BSc Honours degree in Geology is essential
• Registration as a "professional scientist” at SACNAPS is essential
• 5- 8 years in Mining Geology experience is essential
• High level of computer literacy (inclusive of specialized programmes i.e. Cadsmine, MicroStation etc.)
• Valid medical certificate or be medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate
• Knowledge of geological mapping/surveys Communication skills
• Knowledge of geological resource plans Customer service orientated
• Knowledge of electronic data capture (SABLE)
• Bushveld geology and project management knowledge
• Knowledge of drilling techniques and seismic principles
• Knowledge of GIS systems and array methods
• Good communication and Geological reporting skills

KPAs:

• To scientifically identify and forecast ore body/mineral reserves and formations per geological area
• To ensure effective/value-adding geological modelling is maintained, inclusive of forecast updates
• To facilitate integrated participation in the planning and geological exploration of new mining areas
• To constantly monitor geological conditions to ensure efficient, economical and progressive mining
• To compile standardized geological reports for management information purposes (manage all geological data properly)
• To effectively manage core drilling operations
