Senior Geometric Design Engineer

SUMMARY:
Geometric Design

POSITION INFO:

The Incumbent will utilize their qualifications and experience in Geometrics and Highways Design Engineering to work within a team of professional engineers and technologists in delivering projects related to Infrastructure, with proven competence in modelling Highways and Civil Engineering Designs of road networks, site earthworks, drainage, geometrics clash detection and be able to develop and interpret detail designs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with the preparation of cost estimates for working hours on project design.
• Keep up to date with environmental matters and be aware of policy and developments in this area.
• Review technical submissions.
• Ability to work in a team environment and must have excellent verbal and written skills.
• Detail oriented with strong skills in Infrastructure analysis.
• Client liaison and project management
• Undertake and lead team to execute geometrics design tasks as part of project development. 
• Successfully interface with staff from a range of other disciplines (traffic, civil, planning, geotechnical, etc.) to support a diverse range of projects.
• Grow and develop the BENTLEY capabilities within the geometrics engineering team,

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• BEng or BSc Civil Engineering
• Professional Engineer registered with ECSA.
• 5 to 8 years’ experience in a similar role
• Geometric Engineering experience is essential.
• Extensive experience with  Bentley design suite software –  Microstation, OpenRoads, Open Flows, ProjectWise
• Experience working on large, international roads projects.  
• Experienced with SANRAL projects 
• Major and minor road corridor modelling, including intersections, roundabouts and interchanges.
