Senior Hardware Engineer

SUMMARY:
An advanced engineering firm is seeking a Principal / System Engineer: Hardware to lead its Hardware Development Team. This role is ideal for a highly experienced and driven individual with a strong background in electronic or mechatronic systems development for complex, safety-critical applications such as computer appliances and flight control units.

POSITION INFO:

Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead the development of system-level plans, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with aerospace and safety requirements.
• Translate client needs into system and subsystem requirements for hardware and software teams.
• Support business development efforts through client liaison and technical leadership.
• Validate requirements using traceability methods and standards-based reviews.
• Develop robust system architectures and designs, including supporting reliability and safety analyses.
• Create and lead the execution of system verification plans, test cases, and procedures.
• Review and assure quality in system-level testing, while developing tools for verification, validation, and continuous integration.
• Guide the production of system design documentation including manuals and training material.
• Lead system integration and testing efforts with clients—onsite, including ground and flight testing.
• Manage internal and external system-level projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and standards.
• Provide training and technical support to clients, ensuring operational success.
• Contribute to internal company support functions when needed.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering (BSc Eng / BEng).
• 8–15 years of relevant industry experience.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Strong technical communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Advanced problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Proven project management and multi-project coordination experience.
• Analytical thinking for resolving technical issues.
• Willingness to travel for integration, ground testing, and flight testing.
• Proficiency in electronic design and simulation (analog and digital), PCB layout and manufacturing using Altium.

Advantageous Skills and Experience

• Experience in high-speed routing (e.g., PCIe, SATA, Gigabit Ethernet).
• Familiarity with RTCA DO-254 standards.
• Master’s Degree in Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering (MSc Eng / MEng).
