Senior Hardware Engineer

SUMMARY:
We're recruiting on behalf of our client for a Senior Hardware Engineer to join their Test Engineering Group. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Engineer who thrives in a dynamic, high-tech environment and is passionate about developing advanced test systems for the defence and avionics industries.

POSITION INFO:
As a Senior Hardware Engineer, you’ll take the lead in designing, developing, and integrating test systems used in complex defence and avionics applications. You’ll work on high-level architectural designs, coordinate procurement and assembly activities, and ensure the seamless integration, testing, and qualification of hardware systems.

This hands-on role combines leadership, design, and troubleshooting responsibilities — ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-moving, multidisciplinary environment.

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• BEng Degree (Electronics) or equivalent
• 10+ years’ experience in test system development and electronic circuit design
• 5+ years’ experience in test equipment and unit test integration
• Strong knowledge of National Instruments and other test equipment (including MW and RF systems)
• Experience in schematic capture, PCB layout, and C# development (advantageous)
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage complex hardware projects
• Strong analytical, fault-finding, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities

• Candidates with relevant electronic hardware design experience in defence, avionics, or high-reliability systems
