Senior IBM DB2 Administrator

SUMMARY:
Long term contract opportunity

POSITION INFO:

Main Responsibilities:

• Responsible for defining, supporting, implementing, and perfecting the architecture and processes of the product and platforms required to meet business goals. 
• Installation of DB2 software. 
• Create multiple databases for various functions e.g. production, testing and training.
• Monitor database activity and tune database parameters for optimum performance. 
• Analyze capacity and growth of databases. 
• Move and copy databases between environments. 
• Understand DB2''''s support for high availability. 
• Plan and implement the backup, recovery, and security procedures for the Production databases. 
• Utilize appropriate tools for database/SQL creation and problem resolution. 
• Code scripts, routines (functions and procedures), views, triggers, aliases and other database objects. 
• Convert Oracle routines to DB2 routines. 
• Advise on the conversion strategy from an Oracle database to a DB2 database.  

Experience Required:

• 7 years+ experience as Database Administrator.
• Experience with database sizes exceeding 6TB. 
• IBM Certified Database Administrator, preferably IBM Certified Advanced. Database Administrator. 
• DB2 database administration. 
• Experience working on Back-up and Recovery. 
• Performance Tuning. 
• Installation and Configuration. 
• Automation / monitoring tools configuration. 
• Experienced on DB2 SQL 
• Written and Verbal Communication skills in English. 
• Presentation Skills (present training, workshops and meetings). 
• Experience with Maximo will be advantageous. 
• Interpersonal skills Technical report writing skills.
