Senior IP/MPLS Engineer

SUMMARY:
A global telecoms firm is urgently seeking an experienced IP/MPLS Engineer to be involved in the implementation of new IP/MPLS pops and Backbones. You will oversee IP/MPLS Service deliveries as well as provide 3rd level technical support to the NOC.

POSITION INFO:
IP/MPLS Engineer (Telecoms) A global telecoms firm is urgently seeking an experienced IP/MPLS Engineer to be involved in the implementation of new IP/MPLS pops and Backbones. You will oversee IP/MPLS Service deliveries as well as provide 3rd level technical support to the NOC. Minimum requirements include but are not limited to the following: • Bachelor’s degree in IT / Computer Science / Electrical or Electronic Engineering • CCNP and/or JNCIS certifications preferred • 6+ years’ overall experience in the IP service provider space – gaining significant experience with large scale complex IP Network Projects • Solid experience with BGP configuration and troubleshooting. • Knowledge of Juniper routing and switching hardware • Advanced skills in Layer 3 VPN MPLS and Layer 2 VPN MPLS configuration and troubleshooting. • Advanced knowledge of Cisco routing and switching hardware including IOS, IOS-XE and IOS-XR Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: • Managing IP/MPLS Pop and Backbone activations/deployments across the company’s global network: • Completing new IP pop implementations, and documenting the site details and inventory and handover details within the expected pop go live timelines. • Reviewing all non-standard IP/MPLS Service Delivery Feasibilities in conjunction with Implementation team. • Implementing Network upgrades and design changes on the Core IP/MPLS Network: • Working within scheduled maintenance windows to successfully upgrade IP Network devices with minimum outages to customer services.
