SUMMARY:
Labour Consultants provide a wide variety of services to clients on a national basis. They are looking to appoint a Labour Consultant in the KwaZulu Natal and Midlands areas.
POSITION INFO:
Job Specification;
The individual will travel extensively across their region in order to attend to:
CCMA representation, including arbitrations
Managing strikes
Advising on strategy and outcomes relating to retrenchments and business restructuring
Collective/Wage negotiations
Be able to advise on contracts of employment within the context of the BCEA, bargaining councils, and senior staff, including restraints of trade
Disciplinary procedures / Medical Incapacity / Managing performance
Ultimately be able to work independently
Retrenchment proceedings
Consultations
Counseling sessions
Drafting of documentation (contract of employment; hearing notices etc)
Representing vendors at the CCMA for conciliation and arbitration purposes
Candidate with proven Labour Law experience, particularly from an Employer perspective would be hugely advantageous
Essential that the individual must have their own vehicle and also be able to engage with clients
The individual will also be expected to sign up new clients in order to assist in the growth of the business
Representation of Vendors at the CCMA for conciliation and arbitrations
Minimum Requirements;
Degree or similar in a related field preferred
Proven experience within a similar role, albeit a Corporate or Consulting context
Ability to function independently
Accountable and responsible nature
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to varying situations
Willingness to travel extensively and consult predominantly on the Client’s premises
Reliable and loyal
Solution orientated
Task-focused
Ability to read/write in English and Afrikaans – good conversational command of both languages preferred
Confident and strong presentation skills
Own, reliable transport
High level of professionalism and integrity
Ability to work flexibly, independently and be self-motivated
Up to date with the HR field

Strong planning, organising and co-ordinating ability
Excellent people skills at all levels including tact and discretion

Highly computer literate (Excel in particular and comfortable with technology generally)
High level verbal and written communications skills in English
