POSITION INFO:

Job & Company Description:

The Senior Internal Auditor must assist the Internal Audit Services through the execution of integrated risk-based internal audit and consulting engagements and ad hoc investigations whilst adhering to IPPF and ITAF standards.  The successful incumbent must plan the audit by preparing a risk-based scope outlining the background, purpose and objective of the review and developing risk and control matrices and relevant audit programmes which will assist in accomplishing these objectives. It is also in inherent requirement to form part of the departmental improvement and innovation initiatives.  The Senior Internal Auditor might be instructed to lead one or more other internal auditors or trainee accountants on projects.

Education:

• BCom (Hons) in accounting, internal audit, or information systems
• Certification required (CISA or CISM)

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• At least 6-7 years’ work experience in internal auditing (financial sector advantageous)
• At least 1 years’ experience in information technology audit experience
• Familiarity with data analysis
• Strong computer literacy skills (MS-Office)
• Ideally exposure to TeamMate and/or ACL
• Ability to work in high pressure work environment
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Persuasive and influential
• Ability to build and maintain relationships
• Excellent reasoning skills

Job Responsibilities:

• Operational delivery by developing and maintaining an in-depth understanding of the various business and business models
• Managing relationships with key stakeholders
• Preforming adequate research for each area to be reviewed
• Guiding each tea, through allocated sections
• Execute all fieldwork necessary and provide clear understanding of all issues identified during engagement
• Manage deadlines and budget
• Identification of areas which need improvement
• Maintaining all IT Files in line with QAIP methodologies
