Senior IT Communications Specialist

SUMMARY:
Permanent. Cape Town – must be based in CPT or willing to relocate at own expense. Hybrid working environment.

POSITION INFO:

The purpose of the Senior IT Communications Specialist is to contribute in a progressive and unique way to the internal IT information and communications strategy. The role will help to run the execution of various information and communications initiatives, driving our employee engagement and the way the IT team and other stakeholders interact with IT related information including the positioning and creative inputs provided by this role. As the IT Team endeavours to play a leading role in attracting and retaining amazing talent, this role anticipates and forecasts a fresh view of employee trends, behaviours, attitudes, and motivators that provide input to the way we use communication as a key differentiator.

The role conducts ongoing research to identify various IT employee preferences, seeking new ways of optimising our current communications, and bringing a new flair across several channels and platforms. The role serves cross-functionally; collaborating on business-as-usual activities, project and other executive reporting requirements. The Senior IT Communications Specialist aims to think one step ahead preparing robust communications and reporting planners, adjusting to frequent changes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications and Experience

• Completed Bachelor''s Degree in Communications or similar
• 3+ years'' experience in a current and progressive internal communications role, with exposure to employee engagement and communications trends, managing and coordinating effective employee communications campaigns through various channels with a good understanding of internal uses of digital and related technologies including platforms and social media (relevant blogs, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook etc.) - (essential).
• Demonstrable track record of providing reporting at various levels - from internal teams through to executive board reporting and related reporting inputs - (essential)
• Super keen interest and ability in communications and how to leverage communications strategies in an internal IT team context
• Impeccable verbal and written communications skills
