Senior IT Manager

SUMMARY:
Our client, a leading manufacturer in the African market, for over 45 years, is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead their Information Technology department. This role is critical in ensuring the effective operation and advancement of their IT infrastructure, applications and projects.

POSITION INFO:
The Person:

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
• Proven experience as an IT Manager or similar senior-level role
• Extensive experience with Syspro ERP system
• Syspro training or certification
• 3 to 5 years Strong IT project management experience
• 4 to 8 years managing IT professionals and third-party consultants
• Proven track record of implementing IT infrastructure, networking and security best practices
• Strong commercial mindset and business acumen
• 4 to 8 years experience in managing budgets and cost control experience
• Familiar with cloud computing and inhouse IT solutions
• Strategic thinking and the ability to align IT with organisational goals
• Ability to work to work effectively across various departments
• Ability to work independently, whilst serving internal stakeholder

• Serve as the in-house Syspro subject matter expert, provide guidance on its configuration, optimization and troubleshooting
• Mange third-party Syspro service providers, ensure issues are resolved timeously, SLA's are adhered to and business objectives are achieved
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that Syspro aligns with business goals and processes
• Collaborate with third-party service providers, oversee Syspro updates, patches and enhancement

• Lead and manage IT projects, from initiation to completion, ensure they are delivered on time, within scope and on budget
• Alongside business owners, develop detailed project plans, allocate resources and provide regular status updates to stakeholders
• Mitigate risks and resolve issues that may arise during project execution

• Manage and mentor the IT Systems Administrator, foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment
• Conduct performance evaluations, set goals and provide professional development opportunities for team members

• Collaborate with third-party service providers, oversee the maintenance and optimization of the company's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks and hardware
• Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations and standards
• Plan for and implement IT infrastructure upgrades as needed

• Ensure the availability and performance of IT systems and services
• Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure cost-effective solutions

• Develop and manage the IT departments budget, track expenses and ensure cost-effective use of resources
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and optimization
