POSITION INFO:

      Monte Carlo software such as @Risk will be an advantage.

      Exceptional verbal and written language skills i.e., write convincingly, clearly, concisely, and correctly and structure information to meet the needs and understanding of the intended audience.

Ability to Minimum Qualifications:  B. Eng. (Industrial) Degree

Experience Required: 5-10 Years in Industrial Engineering. Consulting experience in mining will be an advantage.

EE/AA:  Preferred, but not mandatory

Location:  Centurion, Gauteng. Consultant will be expected to travel periodically to client sites and stay over to perform project work. Unless there are exceptions our consultants generally do not stay longer than 3 days on site and do not stay on site over weekends. Our clients are distributed across South Africa and the rest of Africa.

Availability / Start:  Immediately

Package:  Market Related

Appointment:  Permanent / full time basis. Associate/contractor appointments will also be considered if near full time availability can be provided over the next 6 months.

These services include but is not limited to geological modelling and interpretation, mining engineering, metallurgical engineering, industrial engineering, project & risk management as well as project and operational support.       The appointed candidate will report to a principal consultant as line manager who will act as mentor and manage the position’s growth and performance requirements.

      We expect all our industrial engineers to be multi-skilled and the successful candidate will need to upskill himself/herself in the industrial engineering focus areas listed above as well as project and risk management and obtain a detail understanding of mining engineering principals.

Requirements:

      B. Eng. (Industrial) Degree is mandatory; ECSA Pr.Eng. will be an advantage.

      Project management qualification or accreditation (PMBOK, PRINCE2, PMP, etc) is preferred.

      Master of Business Administration (MBA) qualification or similar business/ financial masters degree will be an advantage.

      Ability to analyse data, formulate problems and derive relevant solutions within the VBKOM service offering.

      Proven Financial Modelling skills i.e., determine NPV, IRR, payback, etc. will be an advantage, including:

• Experience as a project financial modeler on mining feasibility and/or mega studies in mining industry and proven track record of project success.
• Specific training qualification/ accreditation in financial modelling.

      Simulation Modelling skills will be an advantage, including:

• Experience as a project simulation modeler in the mining industry.
• Proven simulation modelling skills in Simio software in mining industry and proven track record of project success.
• Specific training qualification/ accreditation in Simio simulation modelling.

      Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Projects and Power BI software is mandatory.

      Proficiency in work independently and proactively.

      Excellent people skills.

      A sound work ethic.

      Able to upskill self on new technical processes and specialist software packages required to deliver a service.
