Senior Java Developer

SUMMARY:

Join a division that  have embarked on a rewriting of their  legacy system to serve their current and future clients. The project involves designing and implementing complex software systems and services to further grow one of the leading organizations in the industry.

Role description

• Full stack development experience (UI, Server-side, Database, OS Platform: Windows and Linux)
• Strong technical skills (Java, System Integration, Best practices, Design and Integration patterns, etc.)
• Experienced in designing, implementing and supporting greenfield systems
• Software requirements elicitation & analysis skills
• End-to-end “solutioning” of requirements (Identifying impact areas of change across the system to ensure all the components "fit")
• Solid understanding of IP networks (Network security protocols – SSH, SSL, etc.) with troubleshooting skills
• Intermediate-level system analysis and solution architecture skills
• Assist in supporting our legacy systems

Technology Skills Requirement:

• Java (JDK 8 and 11)
• Java EE 7
• JSP and JSF
• Proficient and understands Java EE concepts: transaction management (JTA), messaging (JMS) and JDBC
• Oracle - SQL writing, database design, basic query optimization including PL/SQL
• Web Services (JAX-WS & JAX-RS)
• Spring boot and Spring Frameworks
• Maven build tools
• XML/XSD/JSON/YAML
• Swagger and OpenAPI
• GIT and Subversion
• Logging frameworks
• Familiarity with Amazon Web Service stack and architecting Cloud-based solutions

Maintenance Experience:

• HTML/CSS and JavaScript
• Hibernate
• MyBatis
• Setup, deploy to and configure Java-based application servers
• Experience with service, enterprise or Java design patterns
• Worked with and configured Continuous Integration tool platforms (Bamboo, TeamCity, etc.)
• Familiarity with Windows Server operational activities
• Familiarity with Linux terminals operational activities

Experience

• 9 - 12 years senior-level experience in Java development, open source tools and APIs and deploying/configuring industry-leading application servers (preferably Wildfly/Weblogic)
• 6 – 8 years mid-level experience writing SQL queries, SQL query optimization, writing and executing stored procedures and good database design skills (preferably in Oracle)

1. Qualifications

• A relevant 3 year degree/diploma in Information Technology.
