SUMMARY:
Our client in the communications sector is looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer on a contract duration of 5 months.

The Senior L2 Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for providing advanced technical support for infrastructure-related incidents and service requests. This role acts as a bridge between Level 1 support and engineering teams, ensuring the stability, performance, and security of core IT systems. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, a deep understanding of infrastructure technologies, and experience working in fast-paced, regulated environments.

POSITION INFO:

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
4+ years of experience in IT infrastructure support or systems administration.
Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux servers, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and networking.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid environments.
Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds) and ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
Familiarity with FinTech or banking compliance standards is highly desirable.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management. Process-driven with a focus on continuous improvement.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-compliance environment.
Entrepreneurial spirit, self-driven and ability to motivate a fast-paced team.
Worked across diverse cultures and geographies.
Pan Africa multi-cultural experience is advantageous.
IT operations SLA management

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
4-year Information Science/ Information Technology/ Computer Science/ Engineering (or related) Degree
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Certification Foundation or Expert v3 / Managing Professional/Master (Preferred)
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (for Azure Stack)
Oracle Certified Professional – Oracle Linux or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect
Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV) (if HPE uses VMware)
