A highly successful Scottish Software House is looking for a skilled Lead Software Engineer with strong Java skills to join one of their core Agile Squads. Opportunity to work 100% remotely, on a really interesting product with the latest tech available!
They've been operating for several years now, and their market leading product is used by some of the biggest tech organisations in the world - they've got a great reputation for delivering a highly efficient and scalable product.
They're currently in the process of rebuilding one of their older applications, as they are continually looking to stay up to date with the latest and greatest tech. This product is already a highly scalable solution written in Java 17, ReactJS + TypeScript, AWS, Microservices and multiple DevOps tools - you'll work first hand on this.
You'll work in an Agile squad of roughly 8 people and will have the support of the Squad Lead - where they will look after everything from a people leadership side of things, so you'll really take charge of everything technical within the squad. This will include really driving a lot of the Development work, helping to implement new technologies, being a really active member within technical discussions, Code Reviews + mentoring and even helping with prototyping for new ideas / products - it will be a really involved role.
You'll ideally have good experience with the following;
** Java 8+
** Spring Framework
** MySQL, SQL Server or Postgres
** AWS
The following is highly desirable;
** Lead Developer / Project Lead Experience
** Terraform
The organisation are based in Dundee, but have established a great remote working practice where you can work anywhere in the UK (no office commitment needed at all - unless wanted). They've still managed to maintain a great culture though and are looking for a collaborative Engineer that would fit in well.
In return the organisation can offer a salary of £55k to £65k + benefits for this role. They also provide each Engineer with 10% of your time back each week for any personal development / pet projects that you want to complete.
