Senior Lecturer: Agricultural Extension (Ref: 1190)

SUMMARY:
The University of Fort Hare is seeking applications from appropriately qualified and experienced candidates for the post of Senior Lecturer Agricultural Extension in the the Faculty of Science and Agriculture

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements: 

• A PhD degree with specialisation in Agricultural Extension Communication and/or Rural Sociology.
• At least five (5) years teaching experience at tertiary level. 
• Experience in supervision of post-graduate students.
• Research experience supported by a good publication record and the ability to attract research funding.
• Past involvement in community engagement activities.

 

Duties

• Teach undergraduate courses in Agricultural Extension.
• Supervise Hons, MSc and PhD students.
• Contribute to the Department’s research output.
• Attract research funding to support postgraduate student training.
• Contribute to academic leadership and administration of the Department.
• Any other responsibilities assigned by the Head of Department.
