The University of Fort Hare seeks to appoint suitable qualified and experienced candidates for vacant posts in Psychology Department- Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities.

POSITION INFO:

 Minimum Requirements:

LECTURER: 

• Masters degree in Psychology; a PhD in Psychology will be an added advantage
• 3 years registration with HPCSA as a Counselling Psychologist
• 2 years’ experience in professional clinical practice and management or 3 years’ experience in the academic environment (teaching and supervising postgraduate students)
• Knowledge and practice in Psychometric Assessment in line with the scope of practice of a Counselling Psychologist

SENIOR LECTURER:

• Possession of a doctoral degree in Psychology
• 3 years registration with HPCSA as a Counselling Psychologist
• 3 years’ experience in professional clinical practice and management or 5 years’ experience in the academic environment (teaching and supervising postgraduate students)
• Evidence of research output (peer reviewed publications)
• Knowledge and practice in Psychometric Assessment in line with the scope of practice of a Counselling Psychologist

Responsibilities Include:

• Teach in almost all areas of Psychology
• Ability to conduct online teaching and assessments.
• Provide clinical supervision and foster the integration of theory and practice in the training of Counselling Psychologists
• Facilitate learning, teaching and research with under-graduate and post-graduate students
• Development and innovation of teaching and learning methods
• Refine the curriculum at undergraduate and postgraduate level
• Participate in community engagement projects
• Contribute to the production of academic publications in the field of psychology, in accredited journals
• Participation and contribution to departmental, faculty and university administrative responsibilities
