SUMMARY:
The Faculty of Law seeks an accomplished Senior Lecturer to join our Mercantile Law Department.
Reporting to the Head of Department, this is a rare opportunity to lead, innovate and inspire the next generation of Law students. Expertise in at least one other area of our undergraduate programme including cyber law, international trade, competition law. Beyond the classroom, the successful candidate will contribute actively to the strategic plan of the Faculty and the University, playing a key role in driving innovation in teaching, curriculum development, research, internationalization and community engagement.
Reporting to the Head of Department, the incumbent will be responsible for providing academic leadership and contributing to the core functions of teaching, research, and academic administration within the Department. The successful candidate will assume primary responsibility as Module Leader for Mercantile Law at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. This will include curriculum design and development, preparation and delivery of lectures, assessment design and moderation, quality assurance processes, and supervision of postgraduate research where applicable.
The candidate must demonstrate expertise in Mercantile Law and at least one additional area within the undergraduate curriculum, including but not limited to Cyber Law, International Trade Law, or Competition Law. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the incumbent will contribute to the Faculty and University’s strategic objectives, including research output and grant development, curriculum innovation, internationalization initiatives, community engagement, and participation in departmental, faculty, and institutional committees. The successful candidate will also be expected to comply with institutional policies, quality assurance requirements, and performance management standards.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:- A doctoral degree in Mercantile Law or related field.
- At least 3 years’ experience in higher education.
- Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research experience.
- A record of accredited research publications. commensurate with the academic rank of Senior Lecturer.
- Postgraduate supervision experience including successful Masters/Doctoral supervision commensurate with the academic rank of Senior Lecturer.
