SENIOR LECTURER: PSYCHOLOGY: East London Campus: Ref No 7877

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements:
· Possession of a doctoral degree in Psychology
· 5 years registration with HPCSA as a Counselling Psychologist
· 5 years’ experience in professional clinical practice and management or 5 years’ experience in the academic environment (teaching and supervising postgraduate students)
· Evidence of research output (peer reviewed publications)
· Knowledge and practice in Psychometric Assessment in line with the scope of practice of a Counselling Psychologist
 
Responsibilities Include:
· Teach in almost all areas of Psychology
· Provide clinical supervision and foster the integration of theory and practice in the training of Counselling Psychologists
· Facilitate learning, teaching and research with under-graduate and post-graduate students
· Development and innovation of teaching and learning methods
· Refine the curriculum at undergraduate and postgraduate level
· Participate in community engagement projects
· Mentor and coach junior members of staff and post-graduate students
. Contribute to the production of academic publications in the field of psychology, in accredited journals
. Participation and contribution to departmental, faculty and university administrative responsibilities
