Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the above-mentioned permanent post in the Faculty of Education

JOB DESCRIPTION:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:

PhD in Education/DEd
MA (Science Education)/ MEd in Science Education
A professional teaching qualification
A minimum of five years teaching at primary school level
Research and publication record in Science Education.
Evidence of postgraduate supervision experience
Evidence of the ability to provide academic leadership
A minimum of three years teaching at Higher Education Institution
An ability to teach Mathematics Education will be an added advantage

DUTIES:

To teach undergraduate and postgraduate students in the area of Science Education, and any Education Studies Modules
Supervise postgraduate students
Carry out research for publication in DHET accredited journals
Serve as a mentor for junior academic staff
To engage in community outreach and collaborative activities.
To build capacity by mentoring student teachers and teachers in service
To participate in training and assess student teachers during school-based integrated learning.
