Senior Maintenance Team Leader (Automotive)

POSITION INFO:

Introduction
An automotive OEM in Pretoria is looking for a Lead Process Coach / Maintenance Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise production Lines for maintenance related activities.
  • Be involved  in Manage The Change meetings when needed to be aware of changes affecting Maintenance.
  • Ensure daily Maintenance operation strategy objectives are met.
  • Implementation of Maintenance Operation Strategy – driving results thereof and controlling of assignments to ensure 100% Maintenance operation strategy objectives implementation according to the Global standards in the Trim & Chassis department.
  • Overseeing Shift Process Coaches & Teams.
  • Ensuring objectives are met through following standardized work and cadences.
  • Optimizing Throughput To Potential.
  • Deliver on production standards including performing Process confirmation and Periodic Job Observations.
  • Building team Capabilities, Versatility and Training.
  • Basic administration of supervisory responsibilities and documents.
  • Ensure plant availability in line with plant objectives.
  • Planning activities to ensure equipment is maintained to deliver Quality and Uptime
  • Lead all daily, weekend and shutdown maintenance planning with input from the team(s).
  • Integrate the maintenance plan into total department business plan.
  • Maximize equipment effectiveness through a detailed, standardized and prioritized preventative and predictive maintenance plan designed to improve productivity.
  • Provide resources, support and prioritise all maintenance actions, record all maintenance activities (planned vs crisis) and create reports to support continuous improvement.
  • Support all new and existing projects.
  • analyse data and evaluate the effectiveness of the preventive maintenance plan.
  • Jointly coordinate maintenance and engineering activities.
  • Manage multiple maintenance projects at various stages of  planning, design, procurement and implementation stage.
  • Develop the weekend planning & Shutdown planning.
  • Review breakdown G8D’s to ensure they meet the standard.
  • Review Preventative Maintenance completion to schedule.
  • Guide team to do scrubbing for not meeting resulted outcome.
  • Liaise and resolve maintenance related concerns raised by internal customers.
  • Updating, feedback and analysis of Paynter charts.
  • Ensure department compliance with government, industry and corporate standards.
  • Participate in Time and Data Management meetings for scheduling, staffing procurement, equipment maintenance, inventory control, constraint analysis, and the coordination of production activities with cross functional departments.

  • Build team leaders and team members’ capabilities.

  • Create a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities/tasks.


Minimum experience & qualifications required

  • National Diploma /Degree in Mechanical/ Industrial/Electrical Engineering and Production/Operation Management Diploma or Relevant Qualification/N6 with trade test.
  • Minimum of 5 years within the Automotive Industry and maintenance background.
  • Must have displayed proven capability of leading a team in a current or previous roles
  • Exceptional problem solving methodologies such as 6 Sigma eg 8D analysis, Fishbone and 5 Why’s.
